Cherif BENHABILES began his professional career at the Algerian Insurance and Reinsurance Company (CAAR), as a Research Manager in a marketing structure, newly installed, then, following the opening of the market to competition. He spent more than 15 years there, climbing all the ladders.

In 2007, Cherif BENHABILES left CAAR as Deputy General Manager to convert to teaching and consulting.

Thus, a year later, Cherif BENHABILES joined the CNMA at the end of 2008. During this period, the CNMA went through a very difficult period, with many changes. He was asked to join the CNMA, but as an Assistant. He took care of all the sanitation management of the technical part. He worked as Technical Director of Insurance, before being promoted at the end of 2013 to the position of Chief Executive Officer. A position he holds to this day.

Holder of an Executive MBI obtained in 2007, from the Higher School of Business, in Algiers, Cherif BENHABILES has a long experience in the insurance sector which has allowed him to restore the image of the CNMA and propel it into the big league. It has modernised agricultural insurance, significantly increasing its turnover and profitability, opening many branches and setting up real training and support programs.

The Director General of the National Agricultural Mutual Fund, Member of the Executive Committee of the AIO, was elected Vice-President of the African Insurance Organisation (AIO), at the 48th General Assembly of the organisation, held in Nairobi in June 2022.

He is also President of the Local Organizing Committee of the 49th Conference and General Assembly of the AIO which will take place in Algeria between 27th and 31st May 2023.
