Nkwenti holds a master’s degree in Actuarial Science and another in Economics from the University of Lisbon, Portugal and University of Buea, Cameroon respectively. He is a part qualified actuary with the Society of Actuaries of USA and fellow of Institute of Actuaries of Portugal.

His over 17 years’ broad experience spans across Business Development, life underwriting, Risk Management, pricing, actuarial, reserving and capital modelling.

Presently he is the Group Head of life and Health Operations for Continental Re responsible for Business development and Underwriting of the life and Health Businesses across Africa. Before assuming this role in 2020, Nkwenti was the Head of Risk management, Actuarial, Life and Health for Francophone in Continental Re. Prior to Continental Re he worked with Actuarial consulting Group Lisbon Portugal (where he consulted for pricing and predictive modelling), AXA Portugal(developed a stochastic model for the future mortality of the pensioners of the Portuguese market and AXA portfolio) and Tranquilidade Seguros Portugal.

Nkwenti is an advocate for financial inclusion, ESG and building of Mortality tables for African countries. He believes that adequate tables will help the determination of adequate price of life insurance products in Africa, ensure life insurance companies remain solvent and increase insurance penetration. Nkwenti is a prolific speaker of English, French and Portuguese.
