This prestigious award highlights groundbreaking books that bring fresh perspectives to the insurance industry in Africa. From tackling local challenges to showcasing innovative solutions, these authors contribute to shaping the future of African insurance.
The winners will be announced in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia during the prestigious closing gala of the 51st AIO Conference.
ELIGIBILITY
The 2025 AIO Book Award will consider entries on any subject of Insurance.
- Book must be on subject matter of insurance.
- Book must have been published within two years of the date of award.
- Book must be published in a member country but need not have been written by an African.
- The author must come from an AIO member company.
- Book must not be less than 120 pages.
- Book must be written in English or French languages only.
- Book must be submitted in both hard and soft copies.
- The book must be written in New Times Roman font 12 and single spaced.
- Use American Psychology Association (APA) referencing style which is the globally accepted style of referencing for social and management science books.
- Co-authored books are accepted because of the ability of co-authored books to deliver great value to readers, but all the authors of such books must be members of AIO.
- Double submissions are discouraged in the interest of fairness.
- Only books that make the minimum pass mark of 50% will be rewarded.
- The book must have a measurable impact.
*NOTE: Any book that has previously received an award/recognition from a recognized organisation or institution will have an added advantage.
AWARD PRIZE
The winners of the 2025 AIO Book Award will collect $10,000.00 prize money to be distributed as follows:
- Winner – $5,000
- 1st Runner Up – $3,000
- 2nd Runner Up – $2,000
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION
Each book entry (hard and soft copy) should be sent in 5 copies for books in English and 3 copies for books written in French. Interested authors are to forward their entries directly to the judges latest February 28, 2025, using the following addresses:
